Run the Jewels’ Self-Titled Track Appears in an NFL Playoffs Commercial

Run the Jewels NFL Promo Instrumental ESPN Football Playoffs

With talking head appearances on major news networks and op-ed’s in papers across the country, not to mention their world-slaying second LP Run the Jewels 2, Killer Mike and El-P managed to be just about everywhere in 2014. Now as we kick off a new year, it seems that isn’t ending anytime soon, as “Run the Jewels,” from their debut album Run the Jewels, has been soundtracking one of ESPN’s recent commercials for the NFL playoffs. Though it’s just a brief section of the instrumental, it’s easy to see how the duo’s menacing, yet bombastic, production might be a fit for the gridiron. Fall Out Boy, strangely, seems to be the band that’s most ready to take over the jock jams mantle, but we certainly wouldn’t mind if our favorite fiery rappers (and makers of SPIN’s  third best album of 2014) passed them by.
