The Suffers ‘Make Some Room’ for Soulful Revival on New Single

Hailing from Houston, Texas, the Suffers are a ten-piece soul collective that steeps their tracks in jazzy history with a modern twist. They’re the sort of neo-retro group you never knew music was so badly missing; comprised of frontwoman Kam Franklin and a powerfully emotive band filled with horns, guitars, and percussion, the Suffers are gearing up to self-release their debut EP, Make Some Room, on January 20.

In advance of that launch, they’ve shared the titular “got my man on my arm” track. “Make Some Room” is a funky, coffee-and-eggs jolt of energy. “I love you like I’ve known you forever / Just need you to make some room,” Franklin wails before an army of trumpets carries her raspy vocals off into the love-drenched sunset. Stream “Make Some Room” below and look for the four-song EP to impact next month.
