Grammys 2015 Nominees: Sam Smith, Beyonce, Iggy Azalea, and More

It’s now, officially, Grammy Season. The 2015 Grammy nominations have been announced, and Album of the Year is a five-way race between Beck (for Morning Phase), Sam Smith (for In the Lonely Hour), Beyoncé (for Beyoncé), Ed Sheeran (for X), and Pharrell Williams (for G I R L).

Smith and Bey are both up for six awards. He’s got a shot at Song of the Year — for “Stay With Me (Darkchild Version)” — and Best New Artist, among other trophies. (He’ll have to beat out Taylor Swift’s “Shake It Off,” Sia’s “Chandelier,” Meghan Trainor’s “All About That Bass,” and Hozier’s “Take Me to Church” for Song of the Year, and best Haim, Iggy Azalea, Bastille, and Brandy Clark for Best New Artist).

Beyoncé, meanwhile, is eligible for Best Urban Contemporary Album (against Pharrell’s G I R L, Chris Brown’s X, Jhené Aiko’s Sail Out, and Mali Music’s Mali Is…) and Best R&B Performance for her Jay Z collaboration, “Drunk in Love.” (Scroll down to see her competition.)

As for other genre-specific categories: Jack White, the Black Keys, and Beck are among the nominees for Best Rock Song (for “Lazaretto,” “Fever,” and “Blue Moon,” respectively). Best Rock Album could go to Beck’s Morning Phase, U2’s Songs of Innocence, Ryan Adam’s self-titled record, the Black Keys’ Turn Blue, or Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers’ Hypnotic EyeKendrick Lamar’s “i” is up for Best Rap Performance, as is Eminem’s “Rap God.” And Miranda Lambert‘s Platinum and Eric Church‘s The Outsiders are two of the candidates for Best Country Album.

Find the list of nominees below. The 57th Annual Grammy Awards will be broadcast live from the Staples Center in Los Angeles on February 8, 2015.
