Electro-pop duo Dead Right!‘s debut single, “Rising Tide,” has been out for a few months, but fellow Los Angeles residents Saint Motel are clearly still riding the wave. The hi-gloss psych quartet have given the disco-friendly track a subtle reworking. But even though Saint Motel’s alterations aren’t drastic, they are effective: Where the original slides onto the dance floor via slick synths, this just-dropped reworking has been thickened with thundering piano, funky bass lines, tambourine jingles, choppy exhales, and bongo-flecked percussion.
