New York duo ASTR had one of our favorite mini-albums of 2014 with their Varsity EP, six songs of hip-hop-infused strobe-pop with nearly every song a potential lead single. Now, album highlight “Operate” has been given a delightful remix courtesy of London producer et Aliae, who replaces the song’s booming bass and crackling beat with twinkling synths and bedroom-trap drums worthy of a Giraffage album, taking the original out of the dingy club basement and making it fun for the whole family.
