‘Weird Al’ Yankovic Is a Magical Salesperson in RadioShack’s Holiday Commercial
RadioShack is still trying, bless 'em
RadioShack’s moment might’ve passed a decade or so ago (according to the New York Times, the company reported a $400 million loss for 2013 and had to close 1,100 stores), but if there’s one man who can help improve the brand’s ailing image, it’s “Weird Al” Yankovic.
In the electronic chain’s new holiday commercial, the master parodist stars as a RadioShack salesman, and he’s very excited about the store’s latest lineup of gadgets, toys, and knick-knacks. The “Like a Surgeon” singer also launches into a song and transforms the store into a Wonka-esque “Toyland,” explaining that shoppers can find gift ideas “for girls and boys and even cousin Bob, who’s 43 and lives at home!” Watch Yankovic’s valiant effort to try to make RadioShack cool again above.
