Rihanna’s Next Album Is ‘Closer Than Anyone Realized,’ Says DJ Skee
The industry insider says she played 10 new songs to Def Jam executives this week
The rumor mill behind Rihanna’s in-progress eight studio album keeps on turning this weekend thanks to music industry insider DJ Skee. On the weekend news update for his Dash Radio show, the DJ reported that Rihanna debuted 10 new songs for Def Jam executives and noted that her Unapologetic follow-up could be “closer than anyone realized.” EDM godhead and “We Found Love” producer Calvin Harris said this past week that the LP is due “really soon” and Skee’s legwork seems to confirm that assumption. Skee further speculates that the album could see release in the fourth quarter of 2014, but there’s obviously no concrete information available yet, beyond a song possibly titled “I’ve Been Searching for Something to Ignite Me When I’m Alone.” You can listen to Skee’s whole segment below, via Complex, which also posits that a new Beyoncé single could drop next week.
