Phantogram’s “Black Out Days” was already a solid piece of buzzy pop, but now, thanks to Detroit rapper Danny Brown and Brazil-based DJ and producer Leo Justi, the track’s been amped up a few notches on a new remix.
On the updated Voices cut, Justi ensures that Sarah Barthel’s howling vocals continue to take center stage, albeit accompanied by pulsing, echoing beats, looped sound bytes, and, of course, an aggro verse from Brown. “Out of body experience / I’m just trying to experiment,” the rapper spits, adding, “And build something with you / Like Egyptians with the pyramids.” Add this one to your dance floor playlists, kids.
