Friday night, Foo Fighters celebrated the Los Angeles episode of their HBO show Sonic Highways with an intimate set at the 500-capacity Roxy Theatre on the Sunset Strip. And if a ripping set of songs from their new record wasn’t special enough for the L.A. crowd, the band brought out a couple of local greats, Joe Walsh and Jane’s Addiction’s Perry Farrell, for a couple of arena-sized reworks of their hits. The alt-rockers took on Jane’s Addiction‘s “Mountain Song” with Farrell handling the adenoidal vocalizations and Walsh on a few fiery blues licks, and then the latter stuck around for a performance of his own “Rocky Mountain Way.” You can watch fan-shot footage of “Mountain Song” above via Consequence of Sound.
