Watch Foo Fighters Storm Through ‘In The Clear’ on ‘Ellen’

The Foo Fighters

The Foo Fighters have been all over television promoting their eighth album, Sonic Highways. There was Dave Grohl’s 60 Minutes interview, the band’s Late Show residency, and, of course, the still-ongoing HBO mini-series that documents the making of the Foos’ latest effort. On Wednesday, the rock giants maintained their small-screen dominance with an appearance on Ellen, where Grohl and Co. tore through a rousing rendition of “In The Clear,” the sixth track from Highways.

Calling them “one of the greatest bands in rock’n’roll,” Ellen enthusiastically introduced the Foo Fighters, and promised a free copy of Sonic Highways to everyone in the audience. The fivesome may have hit the stage minus the Preservation Hall Jazz Band, who appear on the cut’s original recording, but Grohl had little difficulty filling the void with his roaring vocals. Check their performance above, and get familiar with the group’s just-announced tour dates
