Whether or not you actively follow the ongoing life-or-death saga of Katniss, Peeta, and Gale, you would do well to check out CHVRCHES‘ just-released contribution to The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1 soundtrack, titled “Dead Air.”
The synth-soaked single, led by vocalist Lauren Mayberry, lyrically reflects The Hunger Games‘ wartime plot: “We hold up to an idea / And we’ll fight what we can’t see / We just hold up to an idea / We keep going till we can’t hear.” (Psssst – could that refer to Katniss’ hearing loss in the first book? (Not the movie, THE BOOK. WE’RE NOT SPOILING ANYTHING.)
