Amy Adams Joins Janis Joplin Biopic

'Get It While You Can' will start filming in the second half of 2015

After nearly a half decade stuck in development hell, a Janis Joplin biopic called Get It While You Can appears to finally be headed to production. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Amy Adams has signed on to play the legendary songwriter and Dallas Buyers Club’s Jean-Marc Valleé is in talks to direct.

Adams was originally rumored to star in the project way back in 2010, but in the intervening years a number of different names have been attached to the project, including Tony winner Nina Arianda. Now that Adams has returned to the role, it seems that principal photography on the film could begin as soon as 2015, which places it among a massive slate of forthcoming musical biopics.
