After months of teasers, Weezer’s ninth studio album Everything Will Be Alright in the End finally hits shelves next week. The alt-rock heroes have already released a handful of stunning singles, a low-gravity video, and streamed the whole thing, but Friday evening they shared a set of special performances from Los Angeles radio station KROQ.
Full band in tow, Rivers Cuomo brought a lighter touch to some tracks from the album, offering the same anthemic melodies, but on a host of acoustic guitars rather than with muscular Ric Ocasek production. And for their performance of “Go Away,” Cuomo and co. brought along that song’s co-writer, Best Coast’s Bethany Cosentino. You can watch video of that performance above, as well as stripped-down performances of “Lonely Girl” and “Ain’t Got Nobody” below.
Everything Will Be Alright in the End is out October 7 on Republic Records.
