The War on Drugs Get ‘Tangled Up’ in Bob Dylan Cover

Taking time out of their busy “feud” with Sun Kil Moon’s Mark Kozelek, the War on Drugs have recently introduced an exuberant cover of Bob Dylan’s “Tangled Up in Blue” into their touring set list.

A few weeks ago, the band visited Minneapolis’ 89.3 The Current for an in-studio session during which they busted out their rendition of the Blood on the Tracks opener. Drugs mastermind Adam Granduciel handles his vocal duty well, sticking to the original’s throaty, emotional formula pretty accurately.

The Philadelphia band will continue their U.S. tour in support of this year’s Lost in the Dream throughout the fall. Stream the entire in-studio performance over at the 89.3 website, and if you’re jonesing for the Dylan cover, fast forward to 22:25. You can also watch a fan-recorded version of the War on Drugs’ cover, from their Omaha, Nebraska show late last month, above.
