The Dead Weather Show No Mercy on New Track ‘Buzzkill(er)’

Allison Mosshart's vocals are unrelenting

“No mercy shall be given,” Alison Mosshart cries on The Dead Weather’s scorching new track, “Buzzkill(er).” Indeed, her sentiment holds true throughout the high-energy song, which blasts off hard with a series of bass drum beats and high-pitched guitar squeals.

If you’re a die-hard Dead Weather fan, then you might’ve already heard “Buzzkill(er),” plus another track, “It’s Just Too Bad,” when the band distributed the songs via Third Man Records’ Vault subscription series. On the other hand, if you’re a mere mortal, this is your first taste of “Buzzkill(er)” after the band initially teased it via Soundcloud back in July. (In which case, in the corner with you, peon.)

Regardless of the band’s complex distribution methods, the riff-heavy track was certainly worth the wait. Stream it above, and keep your eyes peeled for a new Dead Weather record, which should arrive sometime next year.
