See Taylor Swift Submerge Herself in Vance Joy’s ‘Riptide’

Taylor Swift, Vance Joy, Riptide, Cover, BBC, Live Lounge

Doing folk-rock covers seems to bring out the best in Taylor Swift as a performer. A couple of years ago, she offered a superior take on Mumford and Sons’ “White Blank Page” for BBC Radio 1’s Live Lounge — a show that frequently features contemporary performers covering recent hits from their peers — and now she’s back on the program singing Aussie singer/songwriter Vance Joy‘s Lumineers-y rock radio hit “Riptide.” It’s a pretty endearing rendition, down to Taylor chuckling to herself in anticipation of the “Closest thing to Michelle Pfeiffer…” line.

Watch above, and be on the lookout early next week for the debut of “Out in the Woods,” the new track, co-written by Jack Antonoff (but it’s NOT the new single, she wants you to know), from Taylor’s upcoming 1989 album, due October 27.
