Radiohead’s Phil Selway Did Not Let ‘The Tonight Show’ Performance ‘End In Tears’

phil selway, radiohead, dap-kings, it will end in tears, tonight show

Radiohead’s Phil Selway stopped by The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon last night to perform a beautiful (if somewhat depressing) track off his recently released solo album Weatherhouse. The funky soul group the Dap-Kings backed Selway during the stirring “It Will End In Tears,” and together they imbued the song with heavy, heartfelt emotion. Luckily, the song’s title didn’t turn out to be a self-fulfilling prophecy, and so far as we can tell, the audience wasn’t quite moved to tears by the legendary alt-rock band member’s performance.

Last month, fellow Radiohead member Thom Yorke released his own solo record, Tomorrow’s Modern Boxes, via BitTorrent. There’ve been reports that the U.K. icons are all working on new material together, but at the very least, fans will be able to get their hands on a new Radiohead song soon as part of director Paul Thomas Anderson’s upcoming project, Inherent Vice.
