Up-and-coming rapper Lizzo made her network television debut on Late Show With David Letterman Tuesday night, performing “Bus Passes and Happy Meals” off of her debut solo album Lizzobangers. The Minneapolis-based Lizzo, whose song “Paris” was prominently featured in an episode of Girls, impressed the Late Show audience with her breezy rapping and sudden bouts of body-rolling intensity over the funky backing track. The former GRRRL PRTY member showed major chutzpah when she went in for a full hug after Letterman offered her a congratulatory handshake after the performance.

Letterman seems to have a knack for featuring exciting, brand new talent. In March, Dave was totally blown away by synth-pop weirdos Future Island during their own television debut.
