Watch Karen O and Her Band Somberly Cover the Doors and Radiohead
Folkie Holly Miranda, her touring guitarist, takes the lead on "High and Dry"
On the back of her scratchy, subdued solo album Crush Songs, the Yeah Yeah Yeahs’ Karen O is in the midst of a string of stripped-down tour dates. Saturday night in London, in addition to those lo-fi solo songs, she and her band took on a couple of bonafide classics, the Doors “Indian Summer” and Radiohead’s “High and Dry.” Each of the covers offers a familiarly somber take on the tracks, but on the latter cover O’s touring guitarist, Brooklyn folkie Holly Miranda, takes lead vocal duties while O looks on. Watch O do her best despondent Jim Morrison up above and watch Miranda take on Thom Yorke’s pipes below via Pitchfork.
