Legendary guitarist Eric Clapton composed a touching song in memory of his former Cream bandmate, Jack Bruce, following the bassist’s death last weekend. The untitled track, posted to Clapton’s Facebook page on Sunday, is a sad instrumental, with only a little humming accompanying the restrained guitar. In a separate Facebook post, Clapton called Burce “a great musician and composer, and a tremendous inspiration to me.”

Along with drummer Ginger Baker, Clapton and Bruce released four albums in three years as Cream, and the supergroup achieved tremendous commercial and critical success with their signature blues and psychedelic sound. Listen to Clapton’s tribute song below.
