Listen to Bastille’s Fittingly Intense Contribution to BBC’s Re-scored ‘Drive’
The synthpop group lent their distinctive sound to the moody flick
Bastille might have the perfect sound to accompany Drive, so it’s fitting that they’re contributing to BBC’s re-scoring of the celebrated and introspective crime movie. The appropriately named track, “The Driver,” is moody with a series of stacked and heavy builds. Much like the film itself, the song alternates between quiet and thoughtful moments and blaringly loud intense moments — you can almost picture Ryan Gosling thinking about important stuff, and then violently lashing out.
Radio 1 Rescores: Drive – Curated by Zane Lowe also features Banks, Eric Prydz, SBTRKT, Laura Mvula, and CHRVRCHES, whose contribution, “Get Away,” premiered when the project was announced. The re-scored version will air on October 30th on BBC in the U.K. Check out the trailer below, and stream “The Driver” above.
