Weezer Are Here to Cure a ‘Lonely’ Girl’s Woes
Hear the latest 'Everything Will Be Alright in the End' song in full
After teasing us with a teaser video for a song we thought was called “Lonely Girl,” Weezer have released the whole shebang as “Lonely” via their official Vevo channel. As was promised with the Ric Ocasek-produced Everything Will Be Alright in the End, it’s vintage Weezer — angsty, shy Rivers Cuomo, robust guitars, and smile-inducing power-pop. It’s way more straightforward than “The Britsh Are Coming” and more akin to “Back to the Shack,” the album’s lead single. Everything Will Be Alright in the End is out October 7 via Republic, and the band will then head out on the road for a series of shows, some of which will feature performances of the new LP in its entirety, beginning October 2 in San Jose.
