Watch Ty Segall Celebrate ‘David Bowie Day’ With Cover Songs

The San Francisco rocker tears through "Ziggy Stardust," "Suffragette City," and "Queen Bitch"

David Bowie is already a lot of things, but he recently became something new: a day in Chicago. Yes, Tuesday, September 23, was “David Bowie Day,” as declared by Mayor Rahm Emanuel because: he’s one of rock’s greatest minds; Chicago’s Museum of Contemporary Art opened its David Bowie Is exhibition that same day; everything he’s done for the rights of long-haired men; and why not?

Luckily for everyone involved, Ty Segall just so happened to be riding through town on that holiday and took the opportunity to bust out some rip-roaring Bowie covers, as Pitchfork reports, including bits of “Ziggy Stardust”, “Suffragette City”, and “Queen Bitch.”
