Watch Tacocat Pretend To Go To Hawaii

We’ve told you before, but let us say it again: Tacocat, a punk-pop riot-fizz four-piece based in the Pacific Northwest, put out one of the year’s best records you might have missed. Engineered by Conrad Uno, who also worked on Bratmobile’s grrrl canon Pottymouth, NVM is a buoyant work of soda-fountain punk — 13 short, bright, playful indie-fizz tunes about semi-serious things like cat-calling (“Hey Girl“), trust-fund anti-authoritarians (“This Is Anarchy”), and feminine biology (“Crimson Wave“).

In “Bridge To Hawaii,” NVM‘s second song, the Seattle band imagines a road from their hometown’s constant rain and encroaching gentrification. Watch the palindromic foursome try to actualize this fantasy in the song’s video above, a road-trip-of-the-mind clip written and directed by Stacy Peck and produced and edited by Marcy Stone-Francois. Perfect for end-of-the-summer doldrums.
