In two new photographs released by the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation via CBS late yesterday, legendary record producer Phil Spector clearly shows the effects that prison can have on the human body.
While much of appearance could be attributed to the wear and tear of time (as well as the fact that prison won’t let you wear a wig), Spector looks shockingly different from the sullen and plumper appearance he’d sported before entering jail. In the photos above, taken at two different points in 2013, the 73-year-old Spector seems noticeably balder than he had during his six-year trial, when he was going through his infamous wig-in-the-courtroom phase.
The pop music innovator is serving 19 years to life in a Stockton, California prison for the murder of actress Lana Clarkson in 2003.
