Nick Cave Offers Previously Unreleased ‘Give Us a Kiss’ From New Documentary

Nick Cave Bad Seeds 'Give Us a Kiss'

Nick Cave has never been one to do things the traditional way, so it’s fitting that a new film about the rock icon wouldn’t be your average music doc. Instead, 20,000 Days on Earth focuses on the 56-year-old singer-songwriter’s life and career through live footage, interviews, and surreal scripted scenes that, yep, celebrate his 20,000 days spent alive (that caveat implies that the doc was supposedly filmed 290 days after his 54th birthday, but we’re not sure if he factored in leap years).

To celebrate the Sundance award-winning movie’s upcoming release, Cave and longtime band the Bad Seeds released the chillingly beautiful “Give Us a Kiss,” an outtake from 2013’s Push the Sky AwayAs a bonus, that new song comes backed by a live performance of 2013 single “Jubilee Street,” recorded live at the Sydney Opera House. The film debuts September 19, while a 10-inch single version of “Give Us a Kiss” is due out November 10.
