Dude Proves Every Mumford & Sons Song Sounds the Same

Mumford & Sons began a lengthy hiatus last September, and while the bluegrass-loving Brits are reportedly working on a new album, the follow-up to 2012’s Grammy-winning Babel likely won’t arrive until early next year. But fans can satisfy their hunger for snoozy folk-rock with Dion Beary, a man who has distilled the band’s formula to its purest essence: strum an acoustic guitar steadily, sing softly, sing loudly, pine for a woman in a completely sexless way, then shout suddenly. And there you have it, a song that toes the line between inoffensive and irritating, or, as Beary puts it, “Every Mumford and Sons Song Basically.”

Watch his top-notch parody of such hits as “I Will Wait” and “The Cave” by pressing the play button above (via Gawker). If you’re interested in other musical impressions, Maroon 5’s Adam Levine does a mean Eddie Vedder, and the guy from the “Ten Second Songs” YouTube series recently covered Linkin Park’s “In the End” … while copying the vocal stylings of Axl Rose, Bob Marley, Daft Punk, and more.
