Julian Casablancas and the Voidz Bring ‘Fallon’ to ‘Where No Eagles Fly’

Julian Casablancas + the Voidz unleashed their debut album — the protest-themed Tyranny — on Tuesday, and the ’80s-mining outfit promoted the record with an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. Casablancas and his cohorts redecorated the NBC stage to fit their paranoid worldview (meaning they dimmed the lights and beamed a creepy chessboard onto a screen in the background) and played the slinky-but-staticky “Where No Eagles Fly.” Was it as memorable a set as, say, the Strokes playing Letterman a dozen or so years ago? No, but we’ll take it. Watch the clip above, and head over to Cult Records to pick up Tyranny.
