Now that Death From Above 1979’s first album in 10 years, The Physical World, is out, the Canadian synth-punk duo stopped by The Late Show With David Letterman to perform the LP’s glitchy lead single, “Trainwreck 1979.” To flesh out their already blistering sound, Sebastien Grainger and John F. Keeler were joined by Paul Shaffer and the CBS Orchestra, Letterman’s house band, letting the DFA 1979 cohorts to focus on their drum-and-bass attack. “How about them guys?” Letterman said, before pointing at one of the house band’s members and saying, “That could’ve been you, buddy!” The Physical World is available now via via Last Gang
