Stalley Rides Through Compton Streets in ‘Jackin’ Chevys’ Video

Stalley

The ’64 Chevy Impala has held an important spot in West Coast hip-hop, from Snoop Dogg (on Dr. Dre‘s “Let Me Ride”) to Eazy-E (on “Boyz-n-the-Hood”). Stalley honors the latter with his new track, “Jackin’ Chevys,” which takes inspiration from the late N.W.A member’s opening verse. Known for proudly repping Ohio, with his home state serving as the title for his debut studio album, the Massillon native brags about grand theft auto while paying homage to classic American muscle cars in a new short film. Set to brass bouncing in the background, the Cristopher Schafer-directed clip depicts the emcee’s crew, with the help of a pretty siren, carjacking an old-school low rider before cruising through Compton.

Last fall, Stalley released his Honest Cowboy mixtape and also appeared on MMG’s Self Made Vol. 3 compilation. Check out the music video above, and look for Ohio when it drops on October 28 via Maybach Music Group/Atlantic.
