Rick Parashar, Producer of Pearl Jam’s ‘Ten,’ Dies at 50

Seattle producer Rick Parashar died of natural causes at age 50 on August 14, according to Billboard reports. Parashar was best known for manning the boards for Pearl Jam’s Ten, and was actually part of an April promotion to save the soundboard used to make that record, but he’s also handled recordings for Temple of the Dog, Dinosaur Jr., and Blind Melon.

He was a stalwart of the Seattle scene, founding the city’s London Bridge Studio in 1985 with his brother Raj. In the ensuing years he handled recordings for a number of local acts, including Alice in Chains and Brandi Carlile in addition to Pearl Jam and Temple of the Dog.
