Hear Tweedy’s Stoned, Guitar-Rattling ‘High as Hello’

Jeff Tweedy 'High as Hello' Stream Solo Band

Jeff Tweedy’s band Tweedy — with son Spencer Tweedy — are about as generous as they come. The Wilco leader seems to let slip a new song from the September 16 Sukierae album every few days, and now we’ve another lovely Americana drifter to consider. “High as Hello” can be seen above (live, in a tunnel at the Newport Folk Festival for NPR) and streamed below (the studio version). Employing slight psychedelic flourishes, breathy vocals, and a Pickathon’s worth of guitar-play, the track sounds like something Beck might cook up after drinking a Thermos full of opium tea. It’s a delightful share, like the others that preceded: “Low Key,”  “I’ll Sing It,” “Wait for Love,” “Fake Fur Coat,” and “Summer Noon” (also: the more abrasive “Diamond Light Pt. 1”). Listen here:
