Hear Ice-T Narrate a ‘Dungeons & Dragons’ Audiobook

Ice T Weird Al Yankovic Dungeons and Dragons Audiobook Video

Along with his rap career, his numerous acting roles, and his metal band Body Count, Ice-T has an occasional side gig as an in-demand voice actor. He’s taken more traditional roles in video games like Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, but his latest project is a bit of a strange one. As part of a collection of stories called The Legend of Drizzt, based on the Dungeons & Dragons universe, the rapper read a story called “Comrade at Odds” which is available for free download now via Audible.

As Consequence of Sound notes, he first spoke of the project on his podcast back in February, explaining that it was almost “impossible” because of some of the pronunciation involved.

“It’s some of the most crazy, deep, deep nerd shit,” he said at the time. “Motherfuckers talk like Yoda.”

So listen below to a handful of clips that Something Awful excerpted from the story to hear Ice talk about riding pegasi (that’s the plural of Pegasus), voice a moon elf, and detail the morality of orcs. It’s pretty hilarious to hear the volatile rapper go through the motions reading the story.

Also available at Audible are some other stories from the collection read by “Weird Al” Yankovic, David Duchovny, and former Hobbit Sean Astin. Watch a behind-the-scenes video featuring Ice-T above.
