‘Weird Al’ Calls Out Name-Droppers in ‘Lame Claim to Fame’ Video

Weird Al Yankovic Lame Claim to Fame Video

“Weird Al” Yankovic‘s week-long video campaign for Mandatory Fun has finally hit its penultimate day with the release of a visual for “Lame Claim to Fame.” After parodying Robin Thicke, Pharrell, Lorde, Iggy Azalea, and the Pixies, Yankovic has issued another critique of millennial culture, this time in the form of a track styled after the boozy roots rockers in Southern Culture on the Skids. In the video, which debuted at Amazon Music, a stop-motion animated cutout of “Weird Al” lists all the celebrities he’s vaguely connected to (he once tried to sit next to Steve Buscemi at a movie, and he stood behind Steven Seagal in a grocery store checkout line) before lambasting those tenuous connects as “lame claim[s] to fame.” Check out the lo-fi animated clip above and for more, read our recent ranking of all of “Weird Al”‘s music videos.
