Sia Hits No. 1 With ‘1000 Forms of Fear’

sia no. 1 debut 1000 forms fear

At long last, Sia has reached the top. After penning hits for the likes of Rihanna, Katy Perry, and Flo Rida — and turning ears with Zero 7 — the Australian pop star has garnered her own glory, as her new album, 1000 Forms of Fear, debuted this week atop the Billboard Top 200 chart. This is her first record to debut at No. 1, and boy is it a big one — in addition to maxing out the Billboard list, 1000 Forms of Fear hit No. 1 on the iTunes albums chart in 47 countries.

The success of her, yes, sixth studio album is fueled by “Chandelier,” the track she performed with Lena Dunham on Late Night With Seth Meyers; that one topped the iTunes singles charts around the globe. Also, it was recently drastically (excellently) remixed by Blood Orange’s Dev Hynes. Last week, in light of Sia Furler’s failed attempts to avoid the spotlight, we compiled a helpful guide: 21 Ways to Avoid Becoming a Celebrity. Sorry about the sales victory!
