Vivian Girls’ Cassie Ramone Announces Solo LP With ‘Hangin On’ Stream

Cassie Ramone Vivan Girls Hangin On The Time Has Come Stream

Since the Vivian Girls officially split earlier this year, bassist Katy Goodman’s been fully pursuing her La Sera project, and we’ve been waiting to hear how guitarist Cassie Ramone will spend her newly freed-up time. Of course, she and Woods-founder Kevin Morby make Babies, but now Ramone is branching off on her own. Today she announced plans to release her debut album this summer, called The Time Has Come out August 26 via Loglady.

As Pitchfork reports, Ramone recorded the eight songs in apartments across New York and Los Angeles, giving it a warm lo-fi je ne sais quoi. Ariel Pink guests on bass on a few of the LP’s tracks as well, and wrote this extensive, informative press release bio: “This is Cassie’s first record. She used to sing and play guitar in Vivian Girls. She recorded these songs by herself over the last year or so. She hopes you like the record. Goodbye.”

Good thing the music speaks for itself. Listen to the dreamy, off-kilter “Hangin On” here:
