From the SPIN archives, here’s a 2014 interview with Tinashe where she talks about making a song with RZA… a song about Dr. Pepper.
“The next song I did was with RZA,” she says. “I think we ended up calling it ‘Doctor.’ That was interesting because he was just like, ‘Let’s just write a song about Dr. Pepper.'”
Tinashe’s studio experience was part of Dr. Pepper’s “One of a Kind” studio sessions, where the then-rising artist got to team up with producers like Hood Internet and RZA. Later in the chat, she spoke about how she finds the time to create.
“I never want to stop the creative process,” she says. “I always just want to continue to keep creative juices flowing so I just never stop recording.”
