Watch Interpol’s Professionally Amateurish ‘Anywhere’ Live Video

Interpol 'Anywhere' Live Video 'El Pintor'

Rather than release a teaser video for one of the new songs from their upcoming El Pintor album, Interpol have gone another route, releasing a professionally produced live clip for the song “Anywhere,” filmed back in March at London’s Brixton Academy. Though their live get-up is pretty cool visually, the footage is decidedly amateurish, as though random fans were given a bunch of cameras and told to shoot the performance as they saw it. Instead of close-ups of the band, you’ll see the backs of people’s heads crowding the shots, making it the perfect way to explain to tall people what being a short concertgoer is like. It’s a fun twist on a traditional trope and a great way for fans to hear a quality version of “Anywhere,” which Interpol also performed at Governors Ball a few weeks ago. The anagrammatic El Pintor is due out September 9 and can be pre-ordered via iTunes, Matador’s website, or Interpol’s website.
