Watch Foo Fighters Cover Rolling Stones, Van Halen, Queen in Delaware

Foo Fighters Queen Rolling Stones Van Halen Cover Firefly Video

Though Foo Fighters are still embroiled in the lead up to their eighth studio LP and Dave Grohl’s new HBO series Sonic Highways, Friday night they took a bit of a break to headline Dover, Delaware’s Firefly Music Festival. While there, according to Alternative Nation, they ran through a set of fan favorites and then returned to the stage for their encore as a “bar band doing classic rock covers” called the Holy Shits.

The quintet that took the stage lived up to that billing, running through Alice Cooper’s “School’s Out,” the Rolling Stones’ “Miss You,” Van Halen’s “Ain’t Talkin Bout Love,” and a particularly throat-shredding rendition of Queen and David Bowie’s “Under Pressure.” The band then apparently closed the show with a “cover” of their own “Everlong,” which seemed to be an endearingly knowing wink to the fact that Foo Fighters have songs that are old enough to be played on classic rock radio.

You can see some pretty stellar fan-shot footage of “Under Pressure” above, thanks to Consequence of Sound. “Ain’t Talkin Bout Love” and “Miss You” are below. Videos of “Everlong” and “School’s Out” have yet to surface. Foo Fighters have no more announced tour dates until Voodoo Festival, but don’t be surprised if more secret shows pop up during this slow rollout.
