Devonté Hynes hasn’t had many idle moments since the November release of Cupid Deluxe his debut LP under the Blood Orange name. In between a couple big strings of live dates, he suffered a tragic apartment fire, not to mention found time to give a TED Talk and score Gia Coppola’s first film Palo Alto. And today, he’s back again with a Coppola-directed video for his own “You’re Not Good Enough.” Produced by Urban Outfitters, this new clip shows Hynes in his usual cautiously charismatic mode. He dances listlessly with a bouquet of flowers, hugs Friends’ Sam Urbani, and leads some complicated choreography, all while staring dead-eyed at the camera. Palo Alto is out now, as is the Blood Orange-featuring soundtrack, which hit stores June 2 via Domino. That label will also release the full version of Hynes’ score physically on August 5.
