Watch Arcade Fire Cover Echo and the Bunnymen’s ‘The Cutter’ With Ian McCulloch

Arcade Fire The Cutter Echo and the Bunnymen Video

Arcade Fire’s ongoing Reflektor tour has recently jumped the Atlantic for a string of European dates, and though they appear left their tradition of locationspecific covers on these shores, last night they enlisted a famous friend for another rousing rework. Friday night in London, the band took on Echo and The Bunnymen’s 1983 single “The Cutter” with some help from The Bunnymen’s singer Ian McCulloch.

Though the ever self-aggrandizing McCulloch doesn’t quite carry the star power of some of the Canadian sextet’s other recent guests (like Aaron Paul, Julian Casablancas, or Beck), with his help they’re able to nail the grand sweeping emoting of the Porcupine cut.

Some fan footage of the video screens at Earls Court is above.
