Last week, former album covers artist Mark Ryden announced a compilation of covers of the 1892 song “Daisy Bell (Bicycle Built For Two) featuring the likes of Hear Tyler, the Creator, Nick Cave, “Weird Al” Yankovic, Katy Perry, Kirk Hammett, and Mark Mothersbaugh. Now, you can hear those covers, alongside a series of creepy videos that Ryden constructed for the occasion.
The compilation, The Gay Nineties Old Tyme Music: Daisy Bell, was released last Saturday as a part of Ryden’s new exhibition The Gay ’90s: West at the Kohn Gallery in Los Angeles. Half of the 999 LPs were sold for $99 at that gallery show, and the other half will go up on his website on May 13. All proceeds from this obscenely priced oddity fortunately go to the music education charity Little Kids Rock. Tyler, the Creator’s contribution to the comp is above, and you can stream the rest below.
