Hear the Antlers’ Sleepily Inviting ‘Hotel’

antlers, familiars, hotel

The Antlers will return on June 17 with their fourth album, Familiars. News of the upcoming LP came paired with a Hana Tajima-directed video for the record’s gentle lead single, “Palace.” Now, the Brooklyn trio — singer Peter Silberman, multi-instrumentalist Darby Cicci, and drummer Michael Lerner — have shared another track from the full-length follow-up to 2011’s Burst Apart. The just-revealed “Hotel” trades on the Antlers’ strengths: drowsy horns, twinkling keyboard bits, muted guitar, and lyrics that confront mortality, whether they’re intended to or not. “And when I check out,” Silberman sings, “It won’t matter how my name’s spelled.”

Listen to “Hotel” below, and head over to iTunes to pre-order Familiars.
