Hear Steven A. Clark’s Love-Sick Parable ‘Lonely Roller’

steven a. clark, lonely roller, late ep

Alt-R&B auteur Steven A. Clark has a knack for killing ’em softly. Case in point: “Lonely Roller,” a sensual cut off of his just-released Late EP. The Best New Artist alum describes a Las Vegas tryst gone dull, but uses fervid croons and impassioned guitar riffs to deliver the message. Over a funky rhythm section and cracking handclaps, a would-be paramour pleads with him, “You know I want you.” In response, Clark devastates her with a simple declaration: “I can’t be falling in love.”

Clark’s three-song Late EP is out now on Secretly Canadian and can be purchased through iTunes and Amazon. But first, embrace the heartache below.
