Detroit’s Turn to Crime is the latest project of Derek Stanton, who previously fronted Brooklyn’s Awesome Color. They split in 2010 after producing a handful of albums for Thurston Moore’s Ecstatic Peace label, and he re-grouped with Ian Saylor and Dorian Foerg to form this new garage-inspired trio. To announce their first album, Can’t Love, Turn to Crime now unveil the lead single “Sunday’s Cool,” a feel-good mix of swinging blues and power pop. Check it out below, and pick up the LP July 1 via Old Flame and Mugg & Bopp.
