Pharrell’s whirlwind promo tour for his recently released solo album, G I R L, has already plastered him over a whole host of hallowed television institutions. After performing at the Grammys, the Academy Awards, and the NBA All Star Game, Saturday Night Live may be just another notch in the bedpost, but man and hat made their appearance at 30 Rock last night for a couple of special performances. He was joined on “Happy” by a crew of tweenage backup dancers and on “Marilyn Monroe” by a Hans Zimmer-led string section. In addition, Pharrell put his acting chops on display in a skit that also prominently featured not only his famous headwear, but last night’s host, Pitch Perfect star Anna Kendrick. Icona Pop, too, in town on Miley Cyrus’ Bangerz tour, made an appearance in a skit. Check out all of last night’s highlights below
