Nine Inch Nails will make their televised Austin City Limits debut on April 5. The beloved PBS concert series is plotting a special hour-long broadcast of a 10-song set from Trent Reznor and associates, as a preview of ACL’s upcoming 40th Anniversary Season, which will air this fall. Watch a web-exclusive performance of “Satellite,” a darkly digital groove found on Hesitation Marks, above.

“We never thought we’d see the day when Nine Inch Nails would set foot on the ACL stage,” executive producer Terry Lickona says in a statement. “I mean, they never did television for 25 years.”

To make up for lost time, NIN play an impressive batch of career-spanning tracks, cherry-pickings songs from 1989’s Pretty Hate Machine, 1994’s The Downward Spiral, 1999’s The Fragile, and, of course, last year’s thrilling comeback album. Watch “Satellites” above; read SPIN’s 2013 cover story on Nine Inch Nails, Trent Reznor’s Upward Spiral; hit PureVolume for an interview with the man about ACL; and check out Stereogum to see “Survivalism” live.

NIN and Soundgarden hit the road in July with support from Death Grips.
