M&O’s R&B Cuts Through the Ether on ‘Neighbor’

M&O 'Neighbor' Stream 'Almost Us' Milo Otis

M&O were previously Milo & Otis, but they’ll always be singer/loop-ist Jamila Woods and bassist/producer Owen Hill — two Chicago artists whose combined effort results in such lovely left-leaning R&B as the song you’ll hear below. The duo worked with Chance the Rapper for their 2012 album The Joy, and they’ve got a fresh LP on the way April 3. Almost Us features M&O’s trademark “adventure soul,” an earthy thing that ranges from the lively “House” to more ethereal fare. The brand new taste, “Neighbor,” falls in that latter category, perhaps paying a little tribute to the Auto-Tuned excellence of Bon Iver’s “Woods” (reprised for Kanye West’s “Lost in the World”) as it slowly unfurls.
