In late March, Jamie xx released “Sleep Sounds,” an ephemeral track that might make, say, the perfect background music for a Salvador Dalí dreamscape. The song eventually lent itself to an in-depth music video, in which dancers from the Manchester Deaf Centre in the U.K. created movement inspired by the sound’s physical vibrations. Now, the xx producer/percussionist returns with “Girls,” a comparitively upbeat track that complements “Sleep Sounds,” both musically and structurally. The single will be available May 5 on a double A-side 12-inch out May 7 via Young Turks. Watch the Tetris blocks bounce to the beat in the video above.
