Watch Beck’s Coachella Arcade Fire Cover and Radiant ‘Kimmel’ Set

Beck, Arcade Fire, cover, Coachella, "Rebellion (Lies)," 'Jimmy Kimmel Live!,' "Blue Moon'

These are actually two videos of Beck performing his plush Morning Phase  skygazer “Blue Moon.” The first, from the second and final weekend of Coachella 2014, just happens to show the alt-pop shape-shifter covering Arcade Fire’s 2004 “Rebellion (Lies)” first. He later joined the festival headliners onstage, but above is the first decent fan video to emerge of this stately, folkie tribute. The clip starts with Mr. Hansen reflecting on how he discovered the Reflektor band. He ends with “Blue Moon.”

Meanwhile, last night on Jimmy Kimmel Live (below), Beck once again turned in a sensitive reading of “Blue Moon,” which he has previously performed on The Ellen DeGeneres Show and Saturday Night Live. “A vagabond that no one sees?” Thankfully not, sir. On Kimmel, the twilight-like outdor conditions give the video a particularly appropriate sheen.
